A Note from the Chair: Welcome to the first edition of the Department of Pathology 's online newsletter. The newsletter was created to provide faculty, staff and students with an opportunity to exchange information, to acknowledge some of the achievements of our colleagues and to announce upcoming events and lectures. Please take a minute to learn more about the people and events that make our department one of the best in the country. We also hope that the newsletter will provide useful information about the problems we face, and how we go about trying to solve them.

With our department now expanded to South Lake Union, we are faced with the challenge to maintain open communication amongst members of the department at many different sites. It is my sincere wish that this newsletter will become an important and informative resource for and about the members of our department. Please contact Stacy Ringo at ringos@u.washington.edu if you would like to contribute to the next issue of the newsletter. Your ideas are greatly appreciated.
Thank you,
Nelson Fausto, MD
Professor & Chair
