Description: The Surgical Pathology Fellowship is a one-year program based at the University of Washington Medical Center on the Anatomic Pathology service. The fellowship is designed to offer a broad experience in diagnostic anatomic pathology and to optimize utilization of ancillary diagnostic methodologies including immunocytochemistry, flow cytometry, cytogenetics, and molecular biology. The primary responsibility of the fellow is case signout and supervising junior residents. In addition, the fellow will handle consult cases for faculty as arranged, supervise and teach junior trainees, teach students in health sciences pathology courses, and coordinate resident rotations, teaching conferences, and tumor boards.

Requirements: Applicants are expected to have completed at least 2 years of Anatomic Pathology.

Stipends: Appointment is for one year. Stipend and benefits are based on the schedule for residents at an equivalent level. Fellows are encouraged to apply for extramural funding if additional years of research training is desired.
