Format
In order to involve the participants actively in the learning process, a
set of cases will be available for a preview on the following conference
web site: www.pathology.washington.edu/clinical/dermpathconference/2004/
Participants are encouraged to review the slides prior to the
conference. Attendees may also submit their own interesting slides
in advance of the conference. Selected cases will be discussed
during the session which will be an open forum of review, using
Kodachrome slides, LCD projection, or real time slide projection. Time
for questions from the audience will be provided. The slides must be
submitted at the latest by May 1st to allow suffi cient time to prepare
them for web review. To submit slides, please contact Steve Berard at
sberard@u.washington.edu.
Important legal note: The discussion of the submitted cases is an educational
exercise and cannot be interpreted as formal consultation.
After the completion of the course, the participatns should be able to:
- Recognize the salient diagnostic features of the selected problematic lesions
- Offer the most applicable differential diagnosis for the given entity
- Correlate the diagnosis with clinical history
- Select and interpret ancillary studies
- If applicable, advise on patient management
