Why Attend? To learn about the changes underway in the new curriculum at the University of Washington School of medicine. We shall discuss the theory behind the new curriculum, the impact this will have on pathology education, and what we as pathologists can do to best educate the incoming medical students and expose them to our specialty. After viewing this lecture, attendees should be able to: Relate the changes in the medical school curriculum to the perceived changing workforce needs. Describe the key changes in the basic sciences and the clinical curriculum Understand how pathology integrates into the new curriculum and what new responsibilities we have as a department.
