Description

Why Attend?

“Seven things your boss expects you to know about hematopathology”

Evaluating for hematolymphoid neoplasms crosses all organ systems. While not expected to be an expert hematopathologist in your organ subspecialty, it is important to know how to triage a fresh sample, what to look for morphologically, and be aware of "sneaky" neoplasms/processes that can be missed. In this session, we will discuss hematopathology as it relates to non-nodal organ systems and aspects to think about in your lymph node dissections evaluating for carcinoma.

After viewing this lecture, attendees should be able to:

1.  Triage hematopoietic neoplasms in the organ and gross room

2.  Recognize non-Hodgkin Lymphomas and hematopoietic proliferations at extranodal sites

3.  Recognize sneaky lymphomas that may occur in lymph node dissections for carcinomas
