Clinical and Research Background

Akiko Tsuchida’s research interests center on stem cell biology and its therapeutic application in cardiovascular diseases. She is a research scientist of Heart Regeneration Program, which was established to develop a novel therapy for heart failure patients using human embryonic stem cell-derived cardiomyocytes. She is developing a differentiation system for efficient production of cardiomyocytes which will eventually be transferred into the clinical grade manufacturing facility. Akiko Tsuchida has 11 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
