Fu-Pang Chang, a visiting scientist in Dr. Behzad Najafian's lab, was recently awarded A Young Investigator Award of the WORLDSymposium 2016 (lysosomal storage disease) for his work on the effect of agalsidase-beta on clearance of globotriaosylceramide in parietal epithelial cells in patients with Fabry disease.

To help promote the Dog Aging Project, Dr. Kaeberlein recently visited the set of King 5's New Day NW program with one of the project's four-legged participants, Rascal, to talk about aging research and the work they are doing with dogs now.

Dr. Corinne Fligner, Professor, UW Medicine Pathology, is the recipient of the 2015 UWMC Chief of Medicine Service Award along with Dr. Arthur Eric Anderson, clinical associate professor (Nephrology). This is the first time in the history of the award that it was given to a faculty member who is not in the Department of Medicine.
Mitchell Lee, a 4th year PhD student in Matt Kaeberlein's lab, was recently awarded a Howard Hughes Medical Institute Gilliam Fellowship.
The UW Medicine Pathology Accountable Care Organization (ACO) Committee is pleased to announce that Robert Ricciotti, MD and Nicholas Reder, MD have been selected as the ACO April 2015 Award recipients. Dr. Ricciotti’s project is, “Identifying Pathologic and Molecular Features that Distinguish Enchondroma from Chondrosarcoma”. Dr. Reder’s project is, “A Cost-Effective Microscopic Scanner for Rapid Evaluation of Radical Prostatectomy Specimens”.
