Announcements
Pathology Computer Support UpdateSeveral software products are scheduled for installation and/or upgrade during the month of June: PowerPath is scheduled to be upgraded to the latest version on Saturday, June 11th. This will result in a PowerPath "outage" from 7am to noon. Reminder emails will be sent prior to the upgrade.
*Mozilla will be upgraded to version 1.7.7. This upgrade will occur overnight throughout the month and should have little noticeable User impact.
*ACDSee will be replaced by IrfanView. More information including links to usage instructions will be sent prior to this upgrade.
*Office 2003 will be deployed to all of Clinical Pathology.

Seattle Transit Tunnel Closure
Starting June 4th the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel will close on weekends so that the Sound Transit contractor can begin work on the tunnel retrofit for joint light rail and bus use. On September 24th the Downtown Seattle Transit Tunnel will completely close for up two years for construction. Sound Transit and Seattle Metro will provide the following service options during construction:
*New street-level bus routes once the tunnel closes
*Innovative commuting options, street improvements and improved bus stops

Burke Gilman Trail Closure Alert
As part of the new Research and Technology Building
construction, the Burke Gilman Trail will need to be temporarily closed
between 7th Ave. NE and Roosevelt Way NE. This closure will be from 6
a.m. to 8 p.m. on Monday, June 6th and Tuesday, June 7th, weather
permitting. The closed area will be between Mercer Hall and the
Publication Services building during daylight hours only. Barricades
will be placed to route all pedestrian and bike traffic on to the lower
40th St. sidewalk. Signs will be posted in the area alerting everyone
of this work.

New Arrivals
Assistant Professor Tony Parks and his wife Lananh are proud parents of Andrew Nguyen Parks born May 12th at 1:57 AM. Andy tipped the scales at 6 pounds, 7 ounces, and is 18 inches long. Mom and young Andy are both healthy and doing well.
