Welcome

The Stewart/Shi lab is a collaborative environment, pooling resources to better understand Parkinson’s disease (PD), Alzheimer’s disease (AD), and other types of neurodegeneration. We are particularly interested in identifying biomarkers for neurodegenerative diseases, especially novel markers to improve discrimination between related diseases, better reflect ongoing disease processes, and decrease the burden of monitoring on patients. We enjoy using a wide variety of state-of-the-art platforms to examine processes involved in neurodegeneration from the molecular level, to animal models, to tissues and biofluids from human patients.
