The Boss (a.k.a. Jeanne Fredrickson)

The Boss was lured into the BatCave in October, 2002. Having been enjoying a carefree life of homemaking and making purses and jewelry for Fivefour Designs, she was forced into servitude in order to pay the bills. Back in the old days, the Boss was a professional ballet dancer - touring around the Midwest and Canada with Ballet Michigan and Minnesota Dance Theatre. But alas, an edumacation was requested and so off to school she went -- but to study what?? Ballet certainly wasn't going to cut the mustard, so her brothers convinced her that an engineering degree might lead to a good career, so she opted for a degree in Biomedical Engineering at Wright State University in Dayton, Ohio. After graduating, she moved out to Seattle with her husband, Eric, to attend graduate school at the University of Washington. Here is where she began to learn about flow cytometry and all the wonders of the flow cytometer from the man himself, Dr Frankenstein. In 2002, she graduated with a Master's degree in Bioengineering.

The Minion (a.k.a. Maria Cristina Bravo)

The Minion has been enslaved in to the BatCave since December, 2002. The BatCave has become a second home to her. However unlike bats who utilize sonar, her hearing abilities have decreased and tends to rely on reading lips. She can still hear some so please don't sneak up on her and scare her! She came to the BatCave after suffering through four years of undergraduate work in Chemical Engineering at Northwestern University. While there her outlet for frustration involved being the hooker and prop for the University Women's Club Team. What can she say about herself: She's a glutton for punishment (both mentally and physically)! It also seems like she can never escape dungeon atmospheres. In completing her undergraduate major she spent countless hours in the Chemical Engineering computer laboratory running simulations and programming-no food, no drink, no windows, no sanity, only other ChemE's doing the same thing!! Without her fellow ChemE's and their mass insanity she does not believe that she could have survived.
