Application Process
All components of the application must be submitted electronically via the Embark online application system.

All applicants applying to ACGME accredited programs must be eligible for the American Board of Pathology certification in Anatomic and/or Clinical Pathology.

- Neuropathology candidates may be enrolled in an ACGME-accredited anatomic pathology training program.

Most fellowships require applicants to request Program Directors to complete a Summative Evaluation. See Embark instructions for details.

Unified Timeline / NRMP Match Information
- Dermatopathology fellowship follows the ASDP Timeline. Applications for the 2026-2027 Dermatopathology fellowship will not be accepted prior to July 1st, 2024
- Forensic Pathology participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) for positions beginning on July 1, 2026. Please read the Fellowship Information Letter prior to applying.
- Hematopathology participates in the National Resident Matching Program (NRMP) for positions beginning on July 1, 2026. Please see timeline defined by Hematopathology Program Directors via link and outlined below. Applications for the 2026-2027 Hematopathology fellowship will not be accepted prior to October 1st, 2024

All programs are accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) except Clinical Microbiology (ASM/CPEP) and Clinical Chemistry (ComACC).
- Blood Banking/Transfusion Medicine, Cytopathology, Forensic Pathology, Hematopathology, Molecular Genetic Pathology, Neuropathology, and Pediatric Pathology have board subspecialty certification through the American Board of Pathology.
- Dermatopathology has board certification through the American Board of Dermatology and the American Board of Pathology, depending on residency pathway.
- Laboratory Genetics and Genomics has board certification through the American Board of Medical Genetics and Genomics.
